wedding!
A beautiful but rainy weekend was spent at Redfish Lake near Stanley celebrating the wedding of my sister Shay to Steve O'Connor. Too many pictures to choose from... Congratulations to Shay and Steve! We're so glad he's part of our family. They make an amazing and amazingly beautiful couple. Who else could complete a triathlon together on their wedding day?! Love you both!

SUMMER READING
Lauren Hansen, 8, reads outside of the Idaho Falls Public Library on Tuesday while waiting for her family. She and her siblings had a bag full of books that they checked out.
If you're reading this today, Wednesday, you can check out Lauren here. Click on 'top story.' The photographer said he was from the Post Register and the picture on the cover of her book caught his eye. I had noticed a guy snapping pictures from across the lawn and was glad to know he was just from the paper. Pretty cool, considering so many kids were at the library that day. I actually try to make it a point NOT to go to the library during storytime, it is just so packed and Noah has a hard time paying attention when so much is happening around him. But we gave it a try and still managed to come away with a huge and heavy load of books. They were doing construction, so we parked far away. When we finally reached the van, I couldn't find the keys and sent Lauren and Chloe back in to retrieve them from the checkout desk. Turns out I'd let Ivy play with them and she'd fallen asleep with them in her hand. This is morphing into a post about my irresponisbility with keys this week. On Monday I lost Cody's car key on the path between the Greenbelt and Freeman Park while jogging. I went around the Greenbelt again then finally found it on my way back to the car. All the while fomulating a lost ad in my mind, I wasn't feeling very hopeful. It worked out fine, I just logged about 7 miles that day. Anyway, that's what I've been up to, trying to keep track of it all, especially keys. The girls start knothole baseball today for 6 weeks so that will be fun. Happy summer reading to all!
bittersweet...
This sign comes loaded with emotion for me. Cody accepted a teaching position the last week of May and we've decided to move to Bancroft were we grew up. Way back when we were college kids Cody wasn't able to finish his teaching credentials and that was always a regret. How do you student teach now with a family of six to support? This teeny school will offer him the opportunity to be certified while teaching, plus he can coach two sports to help the financial end of things. The great hallmark of a small school: coach, teach, drive the bus, serve lunch- just joking- but you get the idea! He'll be teaching history, economics, typing, journalism, quite a broad range considering his specialization was English and history. It should be a challenge for him, but we're hoping not too much!
Being honest, I have to say I cried when our nice realtor stuck the sign in the lawn this week. Not that this is my dream home, but I have grown to love it, especially after the remodel, and two children have joined our family here also. It will be hard to leave this neighborhood and ward, we have so many friends and people we love. The only thing that is any consolation to me is that my parents and brother and his family are living there now. I'm going to miss living close to stores, arts and events, running in Freeman Park, late night runs to Reed's for ice cream, and the stoplights. Dear ole Bancroft, population 400, only boasts a post office, thats it. I think the kids will adjust o.k. though. I'm most worried about where we will live there, not too much available as far as homes go. I know it will work out though, it's just stressful in the meantime. I do believe anywhere can be home and in time I'll get used to all that I used to be accustomed to while growing up, it's just been a long time. In the meantime, please send potential home buyers our way!
