...random thoughts from our lives...

a blogging drought...

Wow, almost a month since I last wrote, not because nothing is happening, just busyness I guess. We enjoyed a fun Easter weekend. I don't play up the Easter bunny too much. Honestly, how long can kids believe in a giant hopping bunny that delivers eggs? It's much worse than Santa. We always surprise them, but Chloe informed me that the whole bunny thing was "lame" this year :)

We do a hunt for the kids in the house though. We went down to Bancroft to visit with family also and a yummy dinner at my parents. Too bad the kids didn't want any, too much candy- (see the Peeps for breakfast photo.) More egg hunts, trampoline jumping with Aunt Shay, basketball, bridal shower planning were some highlights.

And I can't believe it, but I got a sunburn today! Only on one arm, since the other was covered up with Ivy and her blanket. Sad that I'm mildly excited by that, but spring can never come quickly enough for us it seems. Noah and I spent an hour outside in the yard cleaning up, eating a few carrots, spinach, and lettuce from last year. Noah was amazed that there were carrots in the ground, so was I for that matter. I was too focused on being pregnant and our home when last year's garden clean-up should have been happening. We also met the girls at the school and played for an hour. Then the girls and I cleaned, vacuumed, and swept the garage and van. A whole winter's worth of yuck. It's amazing to me how kids open up and really talk while working with you, I think we need to do more of it together. My routine has to try to get most of the chores done while they're at school, but they were totally capable and their help was truly helpful. You know what I'm talking about, it wasn't easier to just do it myself and that was nice. Love those two girls, so good with Noah and Ivy. Such sweeties. Happy spring, I think I saw more neighbors today out and about than in the whole winter season combined. It's nice, spring has finally arrived!
